Attorney Profile
Susan Ellender graduated from Baylor University with a BA in Psychology & Sociology in 1993. She spent five years working in counseling and mental health before deciding to attend law school. In 2001 she graduated from the University of Montana School of Law, where she focused her studies on criminal and family law and alternative dispute resolution. Following her admittance to the Colorado Bar, she served as a Deputy District Attorney in Pueblo, where she was assigned to the family violence unit and aggressively prosecuted domestic violence and child abuse offenders. In 2003 she moved to the Denver metro area and entered private practice. She has devoted herself to the exclusive practice of child and family law since 2004, representing parents, grandparents, legal guardians and children in divorce, custody, paternity, child support, and dependency and neglect cases. Her qualifications include extensive experience in addressing issues such as abuse and neglect, drug and alcohol addiction, developmental delays, mental health concerns, and domestic violence as they impact the family unit.
In addition to her devotion to families, children, and the law, Susan is also a full time mother to her son. In her “spare time” she enjoys cooking & gardening, is an avid soccer fan and supporter of the Colorado Rapids and can usually be found at the barn riding her horse or competing at Colorado Hunter Jumper Association horse shows.
